Ben Edge began writing and performing music at the age of 15 when he formed his first band called ‘The Ideots’ with a group of school friends. After Edge designed the bands logo it was pointed out to him by the other band members that he had misspelt the word Idiot, but a group decision was made to go with the misspelling. Later he formed ‘Thee Spivs' who toured Europe extensively and released three full length albums and a handful of singles on Damaged Goods Records before calling it a day in 2013. In 2017 he released an album under the name Ben Edge and the Electric Pencils with the American Brooklyn based label Almost Ready. His debut solo album ‘New Tradition’ was released on Glass Modern Records in 2021 and the follow up album ‘Children of Albion’ in 2025 on vinyl. You can purchase by clicking on the images below.

Since 2021 Ben Edge has released two solo albums, New Tradition and Children of Albion. Prior to his solo adventure his past musical projects include Thee Spivs and Ben Edge and the Electric Pencils.

Ben who is also a painter and visual artist, has undertaken a project over the past decade, in which he has obsessively been visiting, filming and painting the folk customs, rituals and ceremonies of the British Isles and his latest solo work has been inspired by the sights, sounds and folkloric world in which Edge has immersed himself and sees his music as an extension of his art and rarely performs live.

Recently Ben has collaborated with multi Instrumentalist and multi-award winning musician, composer academic and arts leader Kathryn Roberts Parker for his latest release Children of Albion. Find out more about Kathryn here.

Also featuring on the new album are Elspeth Anne and Angeline Morrison who have made guest vocal appearance. Find out more about Elsepth Anne here and Angeline Morrison here
